SAM-SARAH-COCO LOVE TRIANGLE IS A TOTAL DISASTER

Sam Milby, Sarah Geronimo, and Coco Martin have no chemistry together?
The news that Sarah Geronimo's latest project "Idol" will be axed on primetime television caused a trickle of speculations. While the "Idol" team maintains that the official reason for cutting short the musical soap (from its supposed 10 to 13 week-run to just eight weeks) is production related many believe otherwise.

According to the show's observers, the casting of the key roles in "Idol" was a total disaster. It miserably failed to deliver the charm and excitement that the soap intends to fire up in the hearts and minds of its audience.

Worse, the love triangle of pop princess Sarah Geronimo, Sam Milby, and Coco Martin looked so incredulous. Coming from a highly successful pairing with dramatic actor John Lloyd, people expected more on-screen chemistry between Sarah and Sam. But the lack of real love interest between the two, or at least for the fans, the wild chance that one would fall in love with the other, translated into detached and frigid characters on the boobtube.

The Sarah-John Lloyd love team was believable and felt sincere
It didn't help too that Coco Martin is in the picture. The multi-awarded actor may be damn good but his bold indie past was a baggage in sparking an on-screen romance with the pure and perky Sarah.

In spite of many script revisions, "Idol" ended up at the bottom of the primetime game. In the past few days, it was eaten alive by GMA 7's Illumina in the AGB Mega Manila ratings at 14.2% against 9%.

I hope that Sarah soon gets a project that would take her to the next level of her acting career, just like her music. She is done with pa-cute roles and would best shine, and attract televiewers, with a more challenging and mature roles. I am looking forward to that.
