ReplyDeleteMel Tiangco. Two thumbs-up for her excellence in broadcast journalism. She knows when to dramatize the story, when to editorialize (give her comment,opinion especially on the soft news) and when to not. She knows how to react based on the perception of the Filipino viewers and not as an anchor alone. News delivery basically needs objectivity, balance, and truth behind the stories they air - and Mel simply gives justice to these characteristics.

ReplyDeleteJulius Babao of TV Patrol world is the best news anchor in television for me. He embodies the essence of the old school newscasters like Noli de Castro and Angelo Castro. Classy, business-like, transparent and respectable. His delivery is formal and credible. No hint of any bias. No need for dramatization or editorialization. As an news anchor, you have to deliver the news as it is and leave the discretion of judgment to the audience. The news division of the TV station is already responsible for editing the said news or making some commentaries alongside. I like Julius Babao's style because he does not attempt to make conclusions. Just pure news delivery. That's a mark of a newscaster's professionalism.

ReplyDeleteThe best news anchor on television for me is Mr. Anthony Taberna, because he defies the rule that anchors should be over-acting in seriousness. He makes news watching a pleasant experience and you will not end up depressed even if the news is horrifying. He has this certain charm that came make you glued on tv, maybe because he has a calm voice (unlike others who shouts at the top of their lungs). Another thing that I like about him is that, his opinions aren’t biased and well thought of. He stands by it and he is never afraid that certain groups might hate him for that. It also helps that we always have the same stand/opinion on different issues.

Mel Tiangco. I'm a fan of her. She's not only the best anchor,but a best host as well. She's very effective in presenting news on TV and has an ability to handle situations, she already created a positive impact in the lives the Filipinos. I saw her as a brave and kind hearted woman, she fits and deserve to be EVP and COO of GMA Kapuso Foundation, and she works well in it.

It's MS.KAREN DAVILA for me, hands down! She's an excellent representation of modern journalism. She has this clear-cut and straightforward brand of newscasting. She is unbiased with current topics, especially once she's the one out there doing the actual interviews or even just watching her do some short impromptus with her fellow news anchors. I've witnessed this several times, even in her radio program (we can also watch it in TV nowadays), I watched her while she makes her comments about that specific person linked to an issue. She talked about the issue in a no nonsense and a very unbiased approach although it was evident with whom she should take sides. Very few media person can do it that way, if not, it's only Ms. Davila among her contemporaries. No embellishments, just pure and tough journalism!

My choice is someone who's braved the test of time and have the stars under her belt to prove it. Test of time does not only mean age, it's braving through Martial Law and the Edsa Revolution among others. And it's not only the aptitude she has for her field, this toughie also shows a big big heart, evident in her socio-civic affiliations - the Red Cross, media advocacies, her network's foundation and in both Sagip Kapamilya and Bantay Bata 163, to name a few. And though already a multi-awarded broadcast journalist, this grounded lady remains at the center of public service and news and current affairs. She's no other than the incomparable Tina Monzon-Palma.

julius babao is my choice. his presence on screen is commanding. his voice is ideal for anchoring. he has proven his stature in the abs cbn stable. he has added credibility points after fathering 2 cute kids with tintin bersola - they both have actually, because they are also credible parent endorsers. julius has also weathered many a storm in his journeys in journalism.
