Here is the second and final batch of Filipino celebrities who truly deserve to be in advertising campaigns but are not given so much chance.
RACHELLE ANN GO
Except for a Bench campaign a few years ago and a Videoke brand, Rachelle Ann Go has not been tapped in any serious advertising campaign. What a major oversight for this singing competition champion and Platinum Record artist whose weekly performances in "Party Pilipinas" every Sunday in GMA 7 is nothing short of being world-class. Rachelle is oozing with sex-appeal and can be the sultry counterpart of her fellow Viva artist and multi-media superstar Sarah Geronimo. She simply needs a good endorsement break. A shampoo or soap brand perhaps?
RYAN BANG
Pure Korean and Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition housemate Ryan Bang is hilariously addictive. His raw, awkward brand of comedy tickles hundreds of thousands of Filipinos everyday in Showtime. He will soon have another afternoon show in ABS-CBN.Comedians like Ryan should be able to attract brands that use humor in their campaigns including telecomms, food and condiments, and even junk foods. He is capable of making a tagline resonate in the minds of the consumers. Party, party! Right, Ryan?
PRECIOUS LARA QUIGAMAN
Simple and elegant, Precious Lara Quiagaman is the last Binibining Pilipinas titleholder to take home one of the most prestigious crowns-- Miss International 2005 title who earlier won by legendary Filipino beauties Gemma Cruz Araneta, Aurora Pijuan, Melanie Marquez.
While Lara has a handful of endorsements, they are not huge multi-media campaigns. Come on advertisers, is that what you can offer to someone who brought so much honor to our nation? Undoubtedly, Lara's wholesome image, intelligence, and vibrant personality make her an ideal ambassador for a wide variety of brands.
ALEX GONZAGA
Alex Gonzaga is one juicy celebrity to ignore. She is after all, TV5's princess. Even when she was has younger, she's always on her own, stepping out of the shadows of her more popular elder sister Toni Gonzaga.
Aside from an apparel brand that she endorses with her sister and an almost cameo role in a television commercial of bottled beverage brand, Alex mysteriously remain untapped as a celebrity endorser. Her vibrant and youthful character is not just relatable, it is also memorable. Advertisers should take a second look at Alex, before she get even bigger as an artist, and yes, more expensive as an endorser.
XLR8
I've been wondering why advertisers of youth-oriented brands have not taken advantage of the original P-Pop group XLR8. Composed of eight exceptionally talented and good-looking young men namely Francis Ramos, Carlos Lazerna, Hideaki Torio, Caleb Santos, twins Melmar and Meljohn Magno, and Aga Mulach's brother Adrian, XLR8 has a huge fan base-- many of them are teens who follow the K-Pop trend.XLR8 is loaded with youthful adrenaline and has a commanding presence. With such a level of talent, I think advertisers of beverages, technology, and fashions brands can be playful and imaginative.
