It is disheartening to see Losing Candidate (LC) these days. His boy-next-door looks was replaced by a grumpy, burned out, betrayed, weight-gaining middle-aged man who walks around with a huge "L" sign plastered on his forehead.
And it doesn't help that his winning running mate keeps on bringing him to his many public functions as a consultant. Instead of redeeming his popularity and pride, people start noticing this diminished appeal-- if at all they see him in a crowd of bodyguards and busy assistants. Sadly, the former political heartthrob now blends in with just anyone.
Lately, LC is always sighted with the VIP entourage of his running mate carrying his own bag and piles of documents. Those who eventually recognized him greet him with awkwardness and disbelief on how lowly he fell in such a fleeting time.
I believe in human redemption and LC I think deserves one. He is good natured, intelligent, and competent, and has integrity, values that you can never take away from him no matter what. I am optimistic that he is bound for greatness and this phase is simply a character-building experience.
Come on man, rise like a phoenix!
